SALAZAR SHUNT DURING WALT DISNEY WORLD TESTING

A testing accident has hospitalised Chilean Elisio Salazar with a back injury. His Dallara Oldsmobile crashed at 140 mph following an engine failure which pitched his car into the wall.

Elisio is currently being tested for his injuries and it's feared that he may be suffering from a compression fracture to his lower back. It seems unlikely that he'll be able to compete at the WDW 200 in two weeks time.

This isn't Salazar's first incident at the circuit. Last year, in the inaugural Indy 200 he crashed heavily during race preparations and injured his thigh. He quickly recovered and went on to race at the Indy 500 where he again suffered a heavy impact in a three car shunt.

We'll bring you more news of Salazar's condition as and when we receive it.
